WEEK 12
Week 12
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 52 | Georgia State 6 | Bill Curry and Star Jackson return to Tuscaloosa! Never even for a moment over look your opponent. I think the Tide will be well schooled on knowing what Georgia State likes to do and the defense will shut it down. Look for a strong showing by the Tide before we go into the Iron Bowl. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Iowa 31 | Ohio State 27 | I'm taking Iowa in this one. The game is won in the trenches and this is where Iowa have more than a few good men. |
WEEK 11
Week 11
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 26 | Mississippi State 24 | Bama is coming off a heart breaking loss to LSU, and like almost all of Bama's opponents Mississippi State is coming off a bye week. When met with adversity whatever you're made of will come out. If you are a quitter you'll quit and if you're a fighter you'll fight. Mississippi State will play on an emotional high as they will be honoring their teammate Nick Bell who lost his battle to cancer at age 20. I'm taking Bama . |
| Auburn 38 | Georgia 27 | This will be a close game. Georgia has just enough fire power offensively and a defense that bends but doesn't break to at least make it a game. As in all of Auburn games though that grown man at QB has been the difference in the game. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| South Carolina 31 | Florida 24 | This one is for a S E C championship birth. The winner will then get beat up and picked on by a team from the S E C West! Florida is the better team, South Carolina has the best weapons in Alshon Jeffrey and Marcus Latimore. In a game like this playmakers must make plays. And my bet is that the Gamecocks will make the most plays. |
WEEK 10
Week 10
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 20 | LSU 16 | Both teams are coming off a bye week and are probably the closest they have been to 100% healthy since the season started. A healthy Dareus, Upshaw, and Fluker will rejuvenate the domination of the trenches. Not that he's complaining but a healthy Julio wont hurt either. It was this time last year when the Alabama Offense turned it up and started rolling as a more balanced teams. Look for that same improvement as far as execution goes. The Tide must contain Petterson on special teams and the young defensive backs must hold their own in a very hostile environment at Death Valley Saturday. Be sure to tune in for this slobber knocker as it will be a physical game and the most physical team will win. |
| Auburn 42 | UTC 13 | This will be a cake walk and if you want to watch this game to see this years Heisman run,change the channel today. Look for the Tigers to try to further improve their passing game and get Cam more confident as a gun slinger. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| TCU 38 | Utah 24 | 1 of the BCS busters will fall this week. TCU is the most complete team of these two. However I still don't think they should have jumped Boise State. The Utes show up to play but they just don't have enough bullets. |
WEEK 9
Week 9
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Auburn 27 | Ole Miss 14 | Cam Newton is almost everyones Heisman pick this season and deservingly so. He means more to his team than any other player in the country and he's performing on a level that only Tim Tebow has touched. This week Cam takes his campaign on the road. Don't worry...there will be no upsetting the # 1 team in the country this week. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Nebraska 31 | Missouri 21 | I didn't think Missouri deserved to jump as high as they did. Like most teams this year that has won a big game against a good team and then had to play against another good team on the road they too will lose. Nebraska knocks off the tigers, and Iowa will beat Michigan State. The Cornhusker's QB has just what you need to expose Missouri's defense...mobility and versatility. |
WEEK 8
Week 8
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 24 Tennessee 13 | Tennessee 13 | The third Saturday in October is already here! Which means it's time to play against that team that wears the burnt orange! Don't allow the records to fool you...this is a rivalry game. So before you pick this game as a blow out make sure you factor in the emotions that any rivalry game brings. But do look for the talent of the depth chart to show up in the second half. The Tide is sitting at #8 in the BCS standings and is still in the hunt for a national championship If they win out. Step one in this process is beating UT. |
| Auburn 31 | LSU 28 | This one's always good! And this year it is more on the line than ever. Both of these tigers have national championship hopes but only one will be unbeaten after they meet Saturday. Both of these teams have found ways to win in the close ones this year. One could argue that these cats have 9 lives and are 2 of the luckiest teams in the country! However, I feel another close one this Saturday, and like all of Auburn's close games Cam will be the difference. Look for Coach Chavious (LSU Defensive Coordinator) to have a good game plan to contain Cam Newton with the defensive line,a LB spy, and also by zone blitzing. In the end that's still not enough. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Oklahoma 37 | Missouri 34 | This game has upset written all over it! Two unbeaten teams take the field but only one leaves that way. I'm going to make the safe pick on this one and say OU queaks by by the hairs on their chin with a last second kick. |
WEEK 7
Week 7
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 31 | Ole Miss 13 | The only thing to do after a loss is learn from it. I think the Tide will bring it's A-game for homecoming and rebound after the upset this past weekend by South Carolina. Look for a passionate bunch of bama players to take the field and dominate the game. |
| Auburn 27 | Arkansas 24 | This weeks biggest game in my book! Both teams will be tested defensively. The question is who will make a mistake first, and which teams will to win will break first? Both teams have talent offensive personnel. If fairly and the Auburn Defensive line are able to make Mallett uncomfortably in the pocket Auburn wins. If Mallett has time to throw he will pick this secondary apart. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Ohio State 30 | Wisconsin 20 | The Buckeyes were tested by Illinois a couple of weeks ago but have enjoyed a schedule that is so so. This week we will find out if Ohio State is for real |
WEEK 6
Week 6
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 38 | South Carolina 20 | The Tide is coming off their biggest win so far this year! The Defensive Line finally got after it!! I love it when the front 7 dominate a game. I still think Bama and Florida will have a rematch in the SEC championship game. South Carolina had a week off to lick their wounds and get ready for the Tide. South Carolina will come in fresh and ready to play but that won't be enough to beat Bama. South Carolina will look to pick on the youngest of the Tide's secondary Demarcus Milliner. Don't let those two mistakes in the Florida Game, or those mistakes he made against Arkansas fool you. This kid can play and before it's all said and done he will be an All-SEC selection at least. |
| Auburn 31 | Kentucky 17 | Cameron Newton didn't run the ball a single time last week by design.Look for Auburn to continue to take advantage of the defenses that they face inability to stop Cameron Newton by going over the top for 6. Kentucky on the other hand is struggling and although they beat Auburn last year and they have some of those same weapons back they will shoot a few blanks this weekend. Auburn's D-Line is phenominal and nobody has shown that they can block Fairly yet. Look for the blue grass state to move closer to last place in the SEC this week. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Michigan State 28 | Michigan 27 | The Wolverines will get their first loss this week. Jones and the Michigan State Defense will play inspired football and hold Michigan just enough to get by. Michigan State dedicates this one to Coach D! |
| Florida State 27 | Miami 24 | Florida States defensive line leads th FBS in sacks, Miami is # 2 in that Category. Both have QB's who started out being mentioned in the Heisman race! As both teams look to take steps back toward prominence they must win this game. So who wants it more? My guess is Florida State. That defense gets it done in a variety of ways. Look for them to keep the Miami offense off balance and take this one from them. |
WEEK 5
Week 5
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Auburn 49 | Louisiana Monroe 6 | The Auburn Tigers have cracked into the top 10 and will continue to climb. I don't think they will have a chance to lose until they play Arkansas. Louisiana Monroe should be an easy win and Cam and the AU starters should be riding the pine by the third quarter. My question to you is who is the better QB Auburn's Cam Newton or Ohio State's Terrell Pryor? They are both 6'6 inches tall and weight about 250lbs but who would you rather have on your team? Can Cameron Newton carry the Tigers to an 11-0 season and play against #1 Alabama in the Iron Bowl? Will Newtons body hold up with all of the pounding he's taking and as teams start to construct their defensive game plans to stop him? I think the answer to all these questions is yes. But both teams must take it one game at a time and never look to far down the road. How long has it been since both teams went into the Iron Bowl and played for the right to go to the SEC Championship and then play for a National title? What are your thoughts? |
| Bama 27 | FLA 21 | Florida is coming off a blowout win against Kentucky and Bama's coming off a thrilling win against the Razorbacks. The good thing for Bama is that they will not face a better passing attack than what they just saw against Arkansas. The good thing for Florida is that their defense has carried them long enough for their offense to get in sinc. The Bama Db's will have to be on the same page and can't afford busted assignments. The Florida Offense can't afford to have the bad snaps that have not bitten them yet. Believe me...if either of these units make mistakes this game it will result in 6points on the scoreboard. I think Bama wins a close one. |
| BIG GAME OF THE WEEK |
||
| Oklahoma 31 | Texas 20 | One of the Nations best rivalries! Look for the Sooners to play fast and hold off a team that got embarrassed by UCLA last Saturday. Oklahoma is simply the better team but they will have to overcome an emotional Texas bunch to get this win. Mack Brown will be on them all week and the Longhorns will be ready to play. The Sooners win in the end. |
| Oregon 42 | Stanford 28 | This will not be a basketball score like the Ducks has become acustom to this season. But they do have too much Offense for Stanford. Oregon wins this Top 10 matchup by 2 touchdowns though. |
WEEK 4
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| South Carolina 34 | Auburn 28 | Clemson showed the blue print of how to slow Cam Newton down and beat Auburn. I think Tyrone Nix and the South Carolina D which has the # 1 rush defense in the SEC will pick up where Clemson left off and give the Auburn Tigers their first loss of the season. |
| Bama 35 | Arkansas 17 | Ingram returned and exploded on the scene! The stars shined as they always should against Duke. However the Bama D will face their first worthy opponent of the season and how they respond will tell you what to expect from them the rest of the season. A defense is only as strong as their weakest link but look for that Bama Secondary to improve from week to week. Remember it's not where a unit starts but where it finishes. If and when the secondary improves look for the Tide to have another top 10 defense. > Arkansas has bigger defensive issues. They struggled to stop a depleted Georgia Bulldog offense (playing without A.J Green) so this will be a long day trying to Stop the Bama O. |
| LSU 24 | WVA 20 | Contender or pretender? In the Lsu vs West Virginia game we will find out which one is for real and which one is teasing! Noel Devine will be keyed on so other mountaineers will have to step up and make plays. Jefferson for LSU must show up and grow up for the Tigers to get this one |
WEEK 3
| Team | Team | INFO |
|---|---|---|
| Bama 42 | Duke 0 | Put your dukes down! An upset ain't happening here! Dareus's return to action will help Bama up front while also helping our secondary. The best pass coverage is a great pass rusher and #57 for the Tide should be hungry for that QB on Saturday! The Bama substitutes will be in to mop up and maybe Duke gets a score or two on them. Bama Flexes its muscles and gets the first shut out of the season. |
| Auburn 27 | Clemson 24 | This one could go either way. If Clemson can't find a running back to step up then it will be a long day at the plains. My cousin Antoine McClain is the starting right tackle. Sorry Cousin. On the other hand if Auburn can't step up its defense and the special teams continues to struggle I don't know how long super Cam can carry the Auburn Tigers. |
| Florida 28 Texas 35 | Tennessee 30 Texas Tech 38 | I was torn between Texas vs. Texas Tech and Florida Vs Tennessee! So I pick them both because Texas and Florida could be traveling into upset city ! A let down here and florida can kiss their hopes of a rematch against the Tide in the SEC championship game goodbye. Tennessee will play harder coming off a thumping by Oregon last week. Florida's Offense has been sucky thus far and if they can not get it going and they make the mistakes they made week 1 against SEC competition they could very well be a 2-3 loss team and just miss a BCS bowl game this year. Texas will be tested on the road to an hostile environment. The red raiders expectations may not be as high as they were in 2008 when Crabtree snatched the heart out of the Longhorns with his last second heroics for the win but they do compete. All that being said I'm taking Tennessee to upset Florida and Texas Tech to upset Texas. |
WEEK 2
| Team Score | Team Score | Info |
|---|---|---|
| Ohio State 28 | Miami 20 | Ground and pound or air assault! Pick your poison defense...These two Qb's can do it all! A play here or there last season and the Hurricanes could have easily made a BCS game and they are looking to turn the corner this season. A BIG win like this could give the caines the confidence they need to possibly contend this season. Terrelle Pryor and the Buckeyes have been building momentum since they beat up on the USC Trojans last season. Pryor is also this years favorite to win the Heisman. If he plays like a Heisman Ohio State fans can make national championship game reservations. |
| Bama 31 | Penn State 17 | Two of college football's most storied programs square off in what promises to be an epic battle! "The Goal Line Stand" of 1979 comes to mind when I think of these two teams. However I don't think this game will come down to the last play. The Tide will be tested for the first time this season, and the world will find out if Penn State is for real. State has to replace the center piece of last years team "Quarterback Daryll Clark". This means they will be bringing an untested riffle into war at Bryant Denny, and my guess is he will shoot a blank or two. Turnovers will be the key in this one and the Tide wins their second game of the season without its best 2 players (Ingram & Dareus). |
| Auburn 24 | Mississippi State 21 | Two 2nd year head Coaches who match up well against each other will take the field with hopes of starting the year 2-0 as they open up SEC play. The speed of the game should not impact Cameron Newton. Newton is a freakish athlete and Mississippi State can only hope to contain him. Lets not forget he had the privilege of practicing against (2007) what was maybe Florida's fastest defenses in Gator History. This year both teams improve but Auburn gets this victory. |
WEEK 1
Pre Game Picks And Post Game Thoughts
| Team | Team | Info |
|---|---|---|
| BAMA 56 | San Jose State 0 | The Tide is riding high with only a few question marks going into this season: Who will step up in the kick return game? Can a talented group of corner backs get the job done this year? Will Dareus play this season? And last but not least is the Tide strong enough to repeat? To all of these questions I think the answers will all be answered on the field when live bullets are flying. The one thing I know is that this years version of the Crimson Tide will be prepared. They have a strength coach and head coach who are relentless in their pursuit to be the best. The Tide comes in ranked # 1 with plans of sticking to their motto of "Starting Fast & Finishing Strong." With that being said there is no way San Jose State will even slow down this Tide as it begins to roll. |
| Auburn 42 | Arksansas State 10 | Believe it or not some people picked Auburn to win the SEC West this year. I think they will be competitive but they are about a year away from contending. For the Tigers to contend this year their Freshman class will have to play lights out (Like Mark Ingram, Julio Jones, & Donta Hightower did their freshman year for Bama's 2008 freshman class) and Cam Newton must also shoulder the load and grasp the entire offense because this year Auburn can only go as far as the talent of the freshman class and solid play of Cameron Newton takes them. Getting key guys back from last years injuries will also be a big piece to the puzzle. Will this years defense put up a fight against anybody else besides BAMA? With all that being said Auburn will start their season right. |
| LSU 17 | North Carolina 14 | LSU vs. North Carolina Big Game Of The Week! Get ready for the 3rd conSECutive showdown between the ACC and the SEC! Both teams return a lot of talent and have NFL scouts drooling! Patrick Petterson is best DB in the country and will win the Thorpe award this year, and North Carolina is loaded on the defensive side of the ball! Tune in for a slobber knocker! Look for the SEC to extend their winning streak to 3. |
| Virginia Tech 35 | Boise State 31 | "Big Game Of The Week" "Boise State The pre-season noise was great, But you will soon find that to fall's your fate. "~ Todd Bates This week I had to pick 2 Big Games of the week with this one coming on Monday Night. Virginia Tech's running game is too strong, and let us not forget that they do play "Beamer Ball" and normal have a stout bunch on defense. |
