“A Parent’s Sacrifice”
Nobody tells you what you’ll give up,
Times will get hard and you’ll live tough.
The late night crying & midnight feedings,
All the things you’ll do to make your kids life easy.
Providing for family through pain as a fighter,
Standing can be demanding as you’re changing diapers.
The aches are no mistake as hurt lingers on,
As debt seems to pile you wipe sweat from your brow & work your fingers to the bone.
The science of it all is not proper physics,
Your sleep you will miss it…but not doctor visits.
To the occasion you’ll rise as skin sags,
Raising a child is no game…but you want to win bad.
Sometimes you’ll feel locked down and although your style isn’t cuffs,
You might cry but those bright eyes of your child is enough.
